Cordillera Connect helps by creating a tap card system. Instead of the cash handling hussles, change shortagers, unverified discounts, and revenue leakage, daily commuters and jeepney coops enjoy fast 1-tap fare payments, automatic student/senior/PWD discounting, and guaranteed daily fare collection for drivers
OUR VISION
Our vision is to help students get to school on time so that they won't have to wait in long lines for jeepneys. Drivers won't have to calculate coins while driving and will be able to focus on the roads and that will reduce accidents from happening. We wish that our project might improve Baguio City with traffic, commuters, and calculation.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to make public transportation more efficient, convenient, and transparent through a secure tap-card ayment system. we aim to simplify fare collection, provide automatic discounts for working adults, students, and seniors/PWD, reduse cash-handling and revenue leakage, and ensure reliable daily fare collection for drivers.
Our Tap card system makes fare payment simple, fast, and cashless:
Get a Tap Card- Commuters receive a rechargeable card linked to their account passenger typ.
Tap to Pay- When boarding a jeepney, the passenger simply taps the card on the reader. Then the correct fare is automaticallyy deduted.
Automatic Discounts- The system recognizeses eligibe regulars, students, and seniors/PWD,
automatically applyinng their corresponding discount.
Digital Fare Recording- Every transaction is recorded digitally, reducing errors, fare disputes, and revenue leakage.
Driver Collection- Instead of handling and counting cash throughout the day, drivers recieve their recorded fares through a secure settlement system, providing reliable daily fare collection.
Real-Time Monitoring- Operators can monitor transactions and revenue, helping jeepney cooperatives manage their operations more efficiently.
This creates a faster experience for commuters, simpler collection for drivers, and greater transparency for jeepney cooperatives.
Three points why are project is important
Our project is important because it aims to make commuting in Baguio City safer, faster, and more convenient. It can help students get to school on time by reducing long waiting times for jeepneys.
It can also make things easier for drivers by reducing the need to calculate fares and count coins while driving, allowing them to focus more on the road.
Overall, the project can help reduce traffic-related problems, improve the commuting experience, and promote road safety for both passengers and drivers
Our implementation will happen in three phases. First, during months one to three, we will conduct a pilot test using 20 jeepneys along the Aurora hill route. This allows us to test the hardwhere and identify problems before scaling. from months four to twelve, we will integrate the system with student passes and begin issuing cards across participating campuses. Fiinally, from months thirteen to thirty-two, we will expand the system across La trinidad and Baguio City transportation network. This phased approuch allows us to test, improve, and then scale the project gradually rather then implementing everything at once.
